Device driver for the VisioBraille VarioPro2 and older BAUM braille displays with FTDI chip
visiobraille-ftdi-driver-tools.exe
This driver replace all previous BAUM Braille display drivers and removes them during installation. After execution, depending on the driver status, the “Install” or “Uninstall” button is highlighted, and the Windows status messages appear in the installer display window. Please note that during installation a window may appear in the background asking you to trust the signed driver. Press Alt+Tab and check which windows are open. After installation, depending on your screen reader, you will need to restart it or your computer. If the driver installation fails, check whether Windows has automatically installed the BRLTTY drivers that overlay the device driver. Unless you use Windows Narrator, you can use the following script to run the following command in the Windows command prompt with admin rights:
„dism /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:Accessibility.Braille~~~~0.0.1.0“
The driver installation should then succeed. If not, go to the device manager and activate the “Show hidden devices” option under “View” and delete all devices entered under the LibUSB group.
JAWS-driver for all VisioBraille and BAUM Braille displays
This driver install the components necessary for JAWS and automatically recognizes connected Braille displays from VisioBraille and BAUM. If there are problems and the Braille display device drivers are installed correctly, note that the “BAUM Universal USB” component is activated in the JAWS settings (JAWS key+J -> Options -> Braille -> Add Braille display button). The driver usually does this automatically.
NVDA-driver for VisioBraille VarioPro2 and BAUM VarioPro
visiobraillevariopro.nvda-addon
This driver add the VarioPro family displays as an extension to NVDA. When running this extension, NVDA must be started, then you can simply run it in Explorer and follow the steps in NVDA. After restarting NVDA, you have to manually select the VarioPro under Options -> Settings -> Braille. Unfortunately, automatic detection is not possible with this add-on.
